Jigsaw vases with follow up looking at the pictures to find out a bit about Ancient Greece from artefacts. This series of lesson plans was taken by a Lead Inspector for OFSTED/National Leader of Education and Executive Head for his own schools and training. He said they were exemplary examples of high expectations, carefully planned and differentiated lessons which engaged pupils fully.

Looking at famous buildings from around the world, the pupils are hooked into learning about architecture. A letter arrives from the original designer of the Parthenon / Acropolis and explains the process of Greek temple design.
Pupils are led through a notebook file of how to research, design and make their own temple and later write replies to Ictarus with their evaluations.
