A full term’s unit of planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y2 - Y5. This unit will enable the children to explore and investigate a different way of living. Children will be challenged to compare their lifestyle to the characters. This unit will enable the adults and pupils to have meaningful discussions around making good and bad choices and how these lead to good or bad consequences. Within unit of works, there are clear links and times to the section of the film and plans for when to read the additional chapters between lessons. Unit of work includes: Exploring Camp Green Lake Retrieving and presenting information Sequencing Events Debating Investigating The Warden Cliff-hangers Flashbacks and Subplot Kat Barlow’s story Writer tension Imagination Make predictions Understanding of characters Half term quiz Relationship understanding Ordering key pieces of information Gaining information Create ‘how to guide’ Inferences Links throughout story Film Film review

An 8 week unit of planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. This unit will enable the children to read an engaging text which links to the Topic lessons (currently The South American Rainforest). Children will investigate and write in different text types throughout the scheme of work. A 7 week unit of work including planning and differentiated resources using Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Year 1 - Year 4. This unit of work will enable the children to read an engaging text which encourages them to think and explore and make links to the Vikings and Anglo Saxons (currently teaching this as Topic). This unit will also encourage the children to investigate and understand a range of different text types. Unit of work includes: Drawing a Viking using imagination Drawing a character from the story using the description/adjectives Creating a comic strip as Hiccup linking to the events of the story Writing a diary entry as a character about their feelings Predicting how the characters could train their dragons Identifying nouns to create a picture Investigating and identifying the characters and dragons Watching the film then compare similarities and differences Investigating the features of a blurb and front cover

SEN SPaG Unit A 7 week unit including planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicating Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y1 - Y5. Unit of work includes: Capital Letters Full Stops Question Marks Adjectives Verbs Nouns Connectives Unit reflection. Each lesson starts with a practical task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.
