The Magic Box by Kit Wright is an amazing poem for inspiring children to be inventive and creative with their vocabulary! This resource includes a lesson powerpoint, Kit Wright’s poem illustrated with images which can be printed off for the children to use, plus a spider diagram the children can use to plan their ideas before writing their own poem. I have taught this lesson on numerous occassions and had amazing successful outcomes for all children.

This resource pack contains one lesson on the 7 Continents and one lesson on the 5 Oceans, including video links to some exciting and catchy songs to learn them in size order! These lessons are simple and so much fun and are certainly the most memorable Geography lessons I have taught! The activity sheets for the continent activities are also included, there are three differentiated approaches to drawing the continents and labelling them, or adding labels to an already drawn map. The pack also includes an end of unit quiz to evidence learning, and video links for the lesson.

A lovely lesson plan that could be used over a few lessons to teach children how to write to persuade! This lesson plan is based on promoting a summer fair at a school I was working at and it is designed to easily be personalised to any school.

This resource matches perfectly with the Aliens Love Underpants book, there are two documents with a variety of real words and alien words. They are fully editable so can be changed. Great for blending and segmenting and also for preparation for the Phonics Screening!

Two simple lesson plans and a story mountain worksheet to write a fantasy story. No story included as we came up with our own characters and settings and basic storyline, although the powerpoint can be edited to meet your classes needs!

This lesson is all about Lancaster so will be best suited to schools in the local area of Lancaster and Morecambe in the North West! This lesson covers objectives of the Year 1 English Curriculum. There are two powerpoints included, one is focused on teaching sentence writing, the second powerpoint is ‘Percy the Park Keeper’ visits Lancaster, which would need to be the focus text for the unit, therefore this is optional.
