This resource is perfect for beginners! Students will learn to ask questions about what their classmates like to do. They will look at the pictures and ask about the activity. Example: Est-ce-que tu aimes lire? The classmate will then answer “oui, j’aime lire” or “non, je n’aime pas lire”. The worksheet holds students accountable since they have to write their friends’ answers. The whole activity will keep them busy speaking French.

This resource is perfect for beginners who are learning numbers and dates for birthdays. It is a great way to build confidence in speaking since scaffolding is available for students who have a hard time remembering how to start. This simple activity holds students accountable because they have to write their classmates’ birthdays on paper. At the end of the activity, you can have a circle of students and start a conversation, asking “C’est quand l’anniversaire de Sophie?” . Learners will then give the write answer if they interviewed Sophie. You can then ask learners to ask and answer questions in that circle.

This communicative activity will guide students to ask questions using the near future. “Est-ce-que tu vas…” There are 15 different expressions that students will use. At the bottom, there are two sentence starters so students can answer each question. This activity will help learners become more independent while using the target language.
