I am currently a Head of Modern Languages in a large secondary school in the North East Of England. I also work with the local University with PGCE MFL students, an area of my work I thoroughly enjoy. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and have a particular interest in the teaching of grammar and of literary texts to develop reading, writing and listening skills. I am currently working on developing a range of resources to support the study of Le Petit Nicolas and the series of books.

Use with the timers for competition, use without and wait for students to give appropriate answers on mini whiteboards, great for revision for all Key Stages, I made them over time and can add more, feedback welcome ( favorites are normally the snakes and ladders )

Just designed this for y11 but could be adapted for any year group , any age, the reconstruction of the song can be differentiated as I made it harder for A/A* candidates by cutting more bits of the song, whereas I did leave bigger blocks for C candidates.

with the audio file. The first activity can be used as a card sort for students to place the text in order as they hear the song. The 3 remaining worksheets are for differentiation- gap fill with no help, gap fill but verbs in the infinitive have to be placed in the imperfect and gap fill with students selcting the correct verb in each line.

Please follow the link on youtube ( pink martini ou est ma tete official video ) Lovely song for the past tense, parts of the body and even the direct object pronoun. The cards are for pupils to show as they hear the matching idea in the song. I have now added the audio file, I hope it works

Hopefully this will help in motivating students who can find it hard to understand the concept of story teeling/ naarative, it did help my y9. I used the card sorts to support ( the sngle words being the starter then used the phrases for sequencing to see if they could reconstruct the story. Could also read and ask students to show you the correct phrase .

building blocks to show students how to add to get higher levels, the level 5 refers to a style of writing/style and students could be encouraged to use another tense. This includes mini review with mini whiteboard, opportunities for peer assessment. This is used with linguascope, linguastars and also studio 1 interactive package to teach the time . using building blocks in order to develop speaking and writing, I have used and adapted the middle slides ( to be completed on mini whiteboards ) from a resource found on here and added learning outocmes and models for each level. Levels are referring to styles and levels of support used by students, rather than just using the tenses, I do explain that for level 5, a tense would be preferrable , like for a C at GCSE a tense or an attempt at it is preferred.

a presentation to run with mini whiteboards to demonstrate ideas of how they can be used across subjects to enhance learning, making progress, keep focus, pace and engagement throughout a full lesson, moving through levels and grades. I will have to update it as there are more slides I will be using in the future.

This is to go along with Studio 2 , unit 2 , J'adore paris , hence the title and reinforces the activities in the En Plus section. I have made notes at the bottom of each slide which suggest activities for the slide and the aim of this activity is not only to guide students to use both tenses accurately but to also show them the importance of other grammatical aspects such as the use of time expressions, connectives and opinions, as well as sentence development.

I designed this to go with Studio 2 Module 2 ( Rouge ) and this reinforces the vocabulary and grammar on verbs in the past tense that take je suis/ on est . This is for a year 8 middle to high ability and the slide with guided writing has colour coding for verbs stated in the outcomes ( most = pink verbs, some pink and blue verbs )
