Full scheme of work for the New 2016 Edexcel Transition topic for KS3/KS4.
Pupils learn to measure and calculate speed, use and rearrange the S=d/t equation and recall common scalar and vector quantities. There is a game with snail racing!
Includes differentiated worksheets with different themes (superhero themes)!
Also includes:
Acceleration
Distance/time graphs
Velocity
Velocity/Time graphs
Four 6 mark writing frames for Edexcel P3 topic 1-4.
Could be used as a homework or as revision for the upcoming physics exam!
Topics are:
Endoscopes and other methods (fluoroscopes, gamma, x-ray)
Sight problems
Collisions
ECGs
New KS3 Scheme of Work to support the new 1-9 GCSE.
Topic on Light fully differentiated for all year 8 pupils. 7 lessons included, all fully resourced, with notes to explain activities.
Lessons included are:
1. Introduction to light
2. Reflectors and absorbers
3. Reflection
4. How eyes work
5. Refraction
6. Colours of the rainbow
7. Colour filters
EXTRA - Assessment
Homework task
Revision PowerPoint for use with a mixed ability year 11 class. Covers all objectives from the Edexcel Additional Physics topic 5 on Radioactivity.
All activities mentioned on the PowerPoint are on the activity document, where pupils can work at it after you have covered/revised the content. There is also exam practice on the document.
Second topic of the new Edexcel physics transition module for KS3/GCSE.
This topic covers the Kinetic theory model, including density of solids, liquids and gases.
There is also a lesson on Absolute zero, which is currently covered in the P3 Extension unit. This powerpoint could be used for triple award groups.
All worksheets come with answers and are fully differentiated.
2 PowerPoints; one for Combined and one for the Separate science course as they are quite different.
I have used these resources with a top set triple year 10 group and a bottom set year 9 group with good results so it is well differentiated where possible.
If any resources are mentioned but NOT included it is because I did not make them and therefore am not selling them. Check out the free resource part of my page to find it, or contact me and I will send it to you! This includes the tests/assessments.
This booklet is set out lesson by lesson. Students can either take this home and do it themselves or you can go through it question by question in class.
There are a variety of differentiated activities and the activities are all different.
Content covered:
Radiation in medicine (PET scans)
Intensity
How eyes work
Lenses and the lens equation
Sight problems
Distance and image height PCA
Reflection
Refraction
Critical angle
Total internal reflection
Using reflection and refraction (ultrasounds)
Resource contains scheme of work with technician notes and specification objectives to be covered (these are from the exam spec). Practical notes to technicians are also included so you know what equipment to order each time.
Lesson 1 - Energy recap from Paper 5 (Topic 3)
Lesson 2 - Work and Power including mini practical
Lesson 3 - Forces affecting each other including mini practical.
Lesson 4 (HIGHER TIER ONLY) - Vector diagrams including a silly example the students will (hopefully) love. Minealways remember the ‘rubber duck lesson’.
Lesson 5 (TRIPLE ONLY) - Turning forces (Moments, levers and gears).
Includes the 7 topics in the first paper
Topic 1 - Key concepts (throughout the other topics)
Topic 2 - Motion and Forces
Topic 3 - Conservation of energy
Topic 4 - Waves
Topic 5 - EMS
Topic 6 - Radioactivity
Topic 7 - Astronomy.
Full unit of work covering both Higher and foundation as well as the separate sciences for the new GCSE physics course for Edexcel (9-1).
Mentioned worksheets or activities are included, as well as a specification for technicians to help with equipment orders and requisitions.
Where possible, all lessons are fully resources and differentiated. I have used these lessons with a top set triple award class, and a bottom set combined group.
Test assessments are includes, but they are just a mix of the questions given by Pearson, so I cannot claim ownership of these. They have been separated into sections to give a PLC for each student for revision purposes.
