This is quite a large unit - each lesson lasts at least an hour - some lessons last more. There are at least 7 lessons here - but when I taught it, it stretched out longer than that. You are paying for 33 resources in total. The lessons focus on the point of pilgrimage and towards the end, there is some discussion about whether all pilgrimage is religious. It focuses on a mix of world religions deliberately because I wanted to include small parts of Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism that I felt were lacking in my Year 7 curriculum. However, Christianity, Judaism and Islam also feature quite heavily. I used this with Year 7 but it could work with Year 8 as an introduction task - or even as a “nurture” class project and would also be perfect for anyone who home educates. There is a mix of tasks including group work, extended pieces of writing, research tasks, assessment questions and peer/self assessments - as well as a final assessment. My students really enjoyed it. There is also a differentiation booklet of resources for the less able which can be broken down if you would rather. There are also tasks for “fast finishers” and everything is supported with sentence starters and word frames, as well as measurable success criteria for most of the bigger tasks. The unit looks at Lourdes, Mecca, 3 sites in India, Jerusalem and a non religious pilgrimage study of the film “Africa United”. There is homework included in the form of a differentiation “takeaway” homework project. You might have to buy that DVD - it cost me less that £2 on Amazon. There is also a baseline test and hyper links to relevant clips. You could literally download this and be ready to teach in minutes. Enjoy. :)

Assessment focuses on the eco system of Brazil and also has resources to help pupils plan and possibly peer mark if you wanted to slightly adapt it.

Promotes group work, map work and ICT skills (as well as peer assessment). Students have to plan a journey around Europe using the atlas, filling in information as they go about human and physical geogaphy. They then have to plan a presentation on it at the end. Good introductory unit suitable for KS3 Year 7 or Year 8. There is option for differentiation by the groupings. Resources include: a detailed scheme of work, teacher overview, student overview, presentation brief, peer assessment sheets and an accompanying powerpoint.

Introductory unit to "Of Mice and Men". I used this with KS3, Year 8. I have attached a 44 slide PowerPoint comprised of 12 lessons. This includes some background and historical context to the book, a focus on the descriptions of George and Lennie, a study of Curley's wife, set design of the Bunk House and analysis of the "Dream Farm". It also includes self assessment, peer assessment, an assessment on Curley's wife, scaffolding, detailed homework projects, group work and ICT research opportunities. I also used a differentiated booklet that runs alongside the unit which I printed off for weaker students. I have also put in 2 other resources I used BUT you will need copies of Oliver Twist. This unit could easily be stretched out if you added class reading of quiet reading of the text. Includes background on Dickens' life and influences, the context he was writing within, creative writing around what London was like at the time, an example of the non fiction work of Dickens with a comprehension task, a speaking and listening task built around reforming schools and focus on the portrayal of the characters of Jack Dawkins and Bill Sykes. There is also an assessment opportunity built around Dickens' portrayal of Sykes, complete with a levelled itinary. The unit finishes with a fun subject appropriate task. There are multiple opportunities for self or peer assessment. The unit also links into persuasive writing, imperatives and correct use speech marks. *I removed the learning objectives because the ones I used were really specific to a challenging group. As a result of this, I have put the price down to £7.99.

Will you listen to the different government advisers to create a harmonious hotel OR aim to make cash quick without considering the consequences? My year 7 LOVED it. Includes a beautiful worksheet with everything they will need to complete this lesson. Could be done in groups, or alone! :) I used it as revision SO - my students already had knowledge of eco tourism, the climate of Brazil AND flood management strategies.

**BRAND NEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2017** This is a 6 lesson unit suitable for students starting KS3 Religious Education. It includes a scheme of work, a fully differentiated task booklet for EAL/sen students which can be used as a discreet booklet or simply printed off when needed as one off differentiation, an assessment and five beautifully created "WOW" factor lessons which come completely resourced with materials - other than the differentiation booklet.
