5 little ducks

(1)
A sheet to cut and laminate - the top two rows have five little ducks and the numbers below them, then you have a row of ducks to cut out individually and stick on top of the first lot so you can see how many ducks you have left when you remove one as you sing :-)

Ordering fractions worksheets 6 different levels year 3-5

(1)
Supported by circles to colour in, 6 levels of differentiated fractions to order. The first 2 levels as with the same denominator, the second 2 levels are 2 different denominators in the same multiple and the third 2 levels are 3 different denominators in the same multiple. These were made for my year 5's - the Lower ability set are working from year 3 objectives while the middle ability and higher are working from year five objectives.

Designed for my most able year 5 group. - divide numbers up to 4 digits by a one-digit number using the formal written method of short division and interpret remainders appropriately for the context.

KS2 Sample Reasoning Paper 2015 SmartBoard presentation

I have put a screen shot of each question from the 2015 sample reasoning paper into a Notebook file to use with a Smart Board so the questions can be written on, on the board. I will be using it to go through strategies and misconceptions from when the children took this paper last week. I have included the individual screen shots saved as picture files for if you wish to print them individually for practice or if you wish to make your own presentation file in a different format.

Year 5 Negative Numbers - Plan, LI's and resources

(0)
An initial wander into the world of negative numbers for year 5. I have included the first day's plan for three sets, the learning intention with 'I can' statements and 11 worksheets that get progressively harder. (The hardest sheets have answers too.) This day's work was written for an average year 5 cohort, ranging from A.R.E. year 3 to A.R.E. year 5. The initial set has negative numbers in context with number lines to support, the second set has more abstract calculations branching into reasoning at the higher end and the third set has very complex abstract calculations such as 4 - (-6)-(-8).

I have put a screen shot of each individual question into slides in 'Notebook' for Smart board so it can be written on, on the board. I will be using it to go through the paper the children sat last week to discuss the strategies we used and any misconceptions. I have also included each individual question 'picture' for if you want to print out ones they struggle with to practice or put into a presentation of your own in a different format.

Level 3-5 (Year 3-6) Beginning algebra

Seven sets of ten progressively harder 'missing number' calculations. Headed with a learning intention that clearly shows the level and statement of that level. From 3b 'I can use my knowledge of number bonds to 100 to help me find a missing number.' to 5b 'I can work through two steps to find a missing number.'
