(0)
This reading pack contains the story, What’s it worth. Joey? Set in industrial Britain around the 1970’s - 1980’s, the story is about a boy called Joey and his skill at spotting valuable items. Joey is a great story to look at slang terms, life in the past, gang life, peer pressure, influences, PSHE, Citizenship, British Values and history. There are 8 resources all together, 1 being the main text and 7 supporting activities, including character descriptions, assessment / reciprocal / guided reading questions, similar to SAT type questions (matching, sequencing, find and copy words / phrases). This text has some challenging language and phrases to develop children’s knowledge of word and phrase meanings. Suitable for children in Year 5 upwards (KS2 and KS3).

Whole School Spelling Support Scheme EYFS to Year 6

(0)
Using all available documents produced by the DFE, this support document has been created to incorporate all relevant documents to support schools in teaching the new Spelling Curriculum for each Year group for the 2014 National curriculum. This document goes from Phase 1 (Letters and Sounds) up to Phase 10 in Year 6. Statutory and Non-statutory guidance is included. References are made to Letters and Sounds, Support for Spelling and Grammar for Writing; indicating locations and relevant activities and cross references for each Year group to the relevant resource. A massive task but a great time saver for anyone looking at structuring and supporting their spelling whole school. The document can be used as a reference and a planning tool and can be highlighted and passed on to the next teacher.
