Created for AQA English Language Paper 1 Section B. Worked excellently with Year 11 higher ability but could easily be differentiated down for lower abilities.

Lesson includes focus on what writing to explain means, what AO5 linguistic devices should be used when writing, how to plan a response and structure ideas, alongside a full mark exemplar response that can be printed and annotated alongside students in order to show them how to embed particular devices into their writing. The lesson contains appropriate models, details on the drop-shift-zoom method, watching a news report to develop some literary techniques for our writing and use of colour imagery.
