Job overview

The English teacher of the Montessori class is responsible for effective interaction with children aged 6 months to 6 years old through English, such as group activities and individual activities as well as outdoor activities and practice life activities, and are divided into 2 classes to teach according to UNC Timetable set by the head of UNC. The class is divided into 3 age groups, Nido, IC and CASA. Children in Nido classes are typically 6 to 18 months old, IC 18 months to 3 years old, and CASA 3 to 6 years old. Our primary mission is to support children's independence and as children say, "Help me do it myself."

Supporting the good development of children aged 0-6 requires the close cooperation of teachers, and we also require the cooperation of parents who we invite and encourage. Therefore, teachers in this position need to have a strong sense of collaboration and a love of learning. The English teacher of the Montessori class is required to share each child's English and other development with parents through weekly letters, one-to-one parent meetings, etc.


Love, care, respect and support children

From the perspective of children's mirror neurons, every word and deed of the teacher will cause the child to imitate, directly affecting the child's habits and personality development. Therefore, teachers need to maintain good and stable emotions, grace and courtesy, and use positive language when dealing with children.

Have a good sense of safety and keep children within sight at all times.

Be well prepared for group activities that will inspire your child's love of English and learning.

Systematically master the knowledge on how to support the development of children's listening, speaking, reading and writing, and work with local English teachers to gradually support the development of children's English reading and writing.

Observe the child's activities and adjust the interaction with the child according to the child's level and situation.

Respect each child's own space and provide appropriate group activities and individual presentations.

Actively share and communicate with the class teacher, discuss what you have observed and the problems that trouble you, and work with the class teacher to find solutions.


Prepare the environment

Actively study and research the sequence of children's development in all aspects and the Montessori method and philosophy, and constantly reserve their own professional knowledge.

Work with the class teacher to create and maintain a clean, orderly, appropriate and beautiful environment.

Maintain consistent rules with the class teacher to avoid disorder among children in the class.


Home and school communication

Protect the privacy of parents and children.

Actively share the growth of children in the class through weekly letters and one-on-one parent meetings.

Have the awareness and ability to constantly update knowledge and lead a positive and optimistic home-school communication atmosphere.


Active involvement in the school

Support and promote the school and the IB mission statements

Share expertise with colleagues

Attend and contribute to all required meetings

Know school policies and be able to answer everyday queries of parents

Take an active role in school improvement initiatives

Actively participate in school activities and publicity
