<p>This is a fantastic KS3 SOW that has really improved out recruitment for GCSE! 50% of our intake reported that they enjoyed this unit so much that it was part of their decision to pick GCSE Religious Studies.<br /> This unit comprises of 9 lessons which allow students to explore Situation Ethics, Virtue Ethics, Kantian Ethics and Utilitarianism. Students can then go on to investigate some up-to-date social issues which they can apply these ethical theories to.<br /> Each lesson begins with a an editable retrieval task which heps students to build knowledge across the unit. Each lesson ends with a written task which allows students to consolidate knowledge and build links whilst also practicing key skills such as describing, explaining, comparing and building an argument. Additionally homework tasks are included along with a debate assessment which allows teachers to assess and mark effectively whilst managing their workload.</p>

We currently use this as an introductory unit to allow students to then further explore each religion. Within each religion students are able to explore a key figure/story, key belief and key festival. This resources also comes with an excellent booklet for students to complete which matched the PPT’s and has an assessment.
