This session has been developed to support and refine functional hand use and appropriate receptive and expressive communication strategies of students with SLD and PMLD through the medium of sport. The story uses repetition and rhyme to encourage early anticipation skills through changes in tone of voice. As you will see on the slides the part where ‘Ready set’ is repeated should start as a whisper and get louder and louder to support this anticipation. <br /> The story gives a range of suggested activities which can be adapted according to what resources are available in your setting.
