This bundle will help prepare students to complete their A-Level comparative coursework study focussing on the texts of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter (originally for Edexcel Unit 4).

All students who were originally taught this obtained B-A* grades on their coursework.

The Great Gatsby scheme is to be taught first. All of The Bloody Chamber lessons refer back to The Great Gatsby and each week culminates in students writing a comparative essay which can then be used as the foundations for their coursework.

Students are given an option of 7 coursework questions, looking at the themes of: Desire, Gender, Wealth and Power; Spiritual fulfilment and self-actualisation.

Both schemes of learning include A05 critical papers.

Lessons focus on the key skill of evaluation to allow students to reach the top bands of the mark scheme.
