17 October - International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Boxes are filled with key vocab on poverty in English and Spanish. A text and logo from the UN is hidden behind (also on second slide for ease of reference). As students walk in, they can give the Spanish/English translation. If they answer correctly, click on the box and it will disappear. The text has interesting examples of the passive that could be changed into pasiva refleja. I have provided a handout on the third slide in case students need help with vocabulary or if you want the activity to be quicker. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks to baggiebird for adapting Frederic Renouf’s original idea. I have used my own set of vocabulary and updated the picture behind to this year’s information.
