This lesson can be spread over a double, depending on the length of your lessons and the ability range of your students.

The lesson includes a divergent thinking starter ‘What does Bourdieu have for breakfast’ which also includes some prior topic memory retrieval.

Key definitions of Cultural Capital and Habitus are included.

The core focus of the lesson is a paragraph practice with a model paragraph, allowing the teacher to circulate the room and offer live feedback whilst students study the model (best to hand out a printed version of the model) and students can be encouraged to self-assess by highlighting their use of connectives, chains of analysis and key terminology.
