Chords and Harmony [Composing]

An interactive PowerPoint teaching students keys, chords and harmony on keyboards.

There is an interactive Chord Wheel (cycle of 5ths) which also links to the impressive chord wall where each key can be found with it’s corresponding chords.

Students will use this resource to learn about chord progressions, Major and Minor tonality, keys, relative minors and how to play any Major, Minor or Diminished chord on the keyboard.

There is also a section on complex chords for higher ability students where they can learn how to play major 7 chords, added chords, suspended chords and all kinds of jazz chords to add to their composition.

This is the harmony section from the huge Composition resource which links with the interactive instrument teacher as well.

Give students access to the Slide Show version and they can use it at their own pace.

This resource only works full with Microsoft PowerPoint. It will open on Google Slides but the interactivity will be lost
