Classical Music SOW
A 10 week scheme of work which is fully differentiated. It focuses on 6 western classical composers and encourages students to perform famous motifs as well as using these pieces as a stimulus to compose their own pieces. Glossaries and a end of unit listening test with answers is also available as well as a tracking sheet where students can keep a track of all tasks they have completed and at what level.
Classical Music KS3 Scheme of Work
A 12 lesson scheme of work that focuses on 5 key pieces from the classical genre including Bach, Bizet, Haydn, Bernstein and Wagner. This leads on from Classical Music SOW and is currently taught to year 9 students but could be suitable to any of KS3 (some lessons can also be simplified for KS2 or some used to kick start ideas with a GCSE class). A scheme of work outline is also provided with a list of resources for each lesson and details of how to differentiate each section. All PowerPoints are provided with differentiated tasks and homework ideas embedded. All music is provided (with and without note names) and Sibelius files are provided for the majority of pieces. An end of topic listening test is also provided with an answer booklet.
