It is a cold dark night and you are trying to make it home before midnight. It is getting late. You take a short cut through the woods. The light streaming through the trees fades. A cold wind rakes over you, making your skin crawl with fear. Whispers fill the air….you are not alone. Heart pounding against your ribs, you dash into a graveyard hoping to evade the darkness that stalks you.
Suddenly, the gates slam shut! The eerie “click” of a lock echoes in your ears. You are locked in the graveyard!
Composer, Camille Saint-Saens has left clues in the graveyard to help you on your adventure. Decipher secret messages. Solve puzzles and riddles. You have one class period to find the keys to unlock the gate before you become a part of the famous Danse Macabre…forever.
This digital Breakout Game includes riddles, puzzles, games and more! It’s a race against time (45 min class period) to find all five keys to unlock the gate before you become part of the Death’s “Skeleton Crew” of dancers. This game is a fun way for students to learn about Camille Saint-Saens and his symphonic poem, Danse Macabre.
