This easy to use worksheet is the perfect start to a lesson to celebrate European Day of Languages. It can be used in any subject as a starter or plenary to open a discussion about the event, but also as a tutor activity that can be done with students during registration.

Students must find European countries and cities in the word search looking for the words across, vertically, horizontally and diagonally. Some letters are used twice to suit two words, so please let your students know that.

It shouldn’t take students more than 10 minutes to complete and if you’d like to expand the activity you could always show them where all these amazing places are.

You will get a PDF copy of the word search with ANSWERS included. I’ve made sure there is a black and white version as well as coloured one depending on your printer.

You can also find a European Day of Languages Quiz in my shop if you’d like to dedicate an entire lesson to exploring Europe. https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/european-day-of-languages-quiz-12723633
