This play for 11-19 year olds looks at the impact of food consumption on the planet's resources and provides a great basis for discussion and further exploration of the topic. Students will explore the impact of food security on our country and the issues we currently face around food security.
Although the format allows for delivery of the play in one day, there are many different ways you can run this project: it works really well delivered over half a term as part of students’ regular drama lessons, with a performance at the end. The scripts have roles for everyone in the class and not only explore key topics but develop transferrable skills e.g. teamwork, creativity and leadership.
The play is written by Rhiannon Tise and produced by Theatre of Debate. It is part of The Crunch - an exciting year of free activities, experiences and discussions about our food, our health and our planet: please see thecrunch.wellcome.ac.uk/schools-and-colleges and use #thecrunch2016.
