A resource designed to meet the needs of the GCSE Edexcel Business specification; Unit 1 Topic 5 - but could be used outside of this as a general introduction to supply and demand.
The resource contains a PowerPoint driven by visuals, to which I have added my delivery notes along the bottom including how and when activities are undertaken. All resources can be edited as required.
The content was delivered over a one hour lesson and includes;
A spot the 'commodity' sorting task
A guess the price of the commodity game
Notes to define commodity, supply and demand -including external links to exemplify the impact on price
A 'gold exchange' whole class activity
A comparison of two businesses to assess the impact of changing commodity prices on business costs
Included in the resources here are a ppt (including printable resource slides); a two page key notes hand-out with space for notes and activities (I have never been a fan of getting students copying from the board).
