Organisations, movements & members - Types of religious organisation is the 6th topic which is part of the unit on Beliefs in Society. There are 3 parts to this topic:

6.c) Religiosity and social groups
This is an interactive lesson, with opportunities for paired/group activities. To help students further engage with the topic, there are contemporary videos and reading materials included.
Lesson objectives:
• To be able to identify the key characteristics of churches, denominations, sects, cults, New Religious Movements and New Age Movements.
• To be able to describe real life examples of each of the above religious organisations and movements.
This lesson is delivered part of the wider scheme of work for Beliefs in Society, would follow on from L5. Religion in a global context, which is available as individual lessons or as a discounted bundle in the shop!
