This plan will cover 6 weeks worth of English planning for Reception teachers based around the theme of animals. It includes the daily lesson input as well as an idea for a related CIL activity and an adult led activity. Of course it is editable so that you can change this into a format that will work for you. The weekly themes are as follows:

Week 2: Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin Jr.
Week 3: Giraffes can’t Dance by Giles Andreae
Week 4: Walking through the Jungle by Julie Lacome
Week 5: Oi Dog by Kes Gray and Jim Field
Week 6: Writing instructions about looking after a pet
