Year 1 English - Three Billy Goats Gruff Planning (7 lessons)

(0)
The Three Billy Goats Gruff is an incredible story to use when working with EYFS and KS1. This English/Literacy planning is intended for use with Year 1 but could easily be used or slightly adapted for use with EYFS children. The planning carefully guides the children through the teaching sequence for writing as they learn to listen and talk about the story, explore the characters, retell the story in thier own words with a focus on language development, eventually leading to them writing their own version of the story. Also included are some beautiful hand drawn images that can be used as prompts for discussion, sequencing and colouring in. Report Writing Template for Year 1 Teachers

(0)
Year 1 teachers, make report writing easy with this report writing template. I have been teaching for over 20 years now and have always prided myself on writing each and every report to match my pupils. It is a painful, labour-intensive process and in all honesty, when I look back at those reports, many contain the same phrasing because that’s just how I write. So, this year I’m doing things a different way. I aim to get my reports done quickly. Yes, they will be personalised but the agony of how to open and phrase difficult subjects will be gone because of the work that I have put into this report document. If you wish to join me in taking the labour and the pain out of report writing, I recommend you purchasing this document. Your headteacher will be thrilled with these well written personalised reports. (As a teacher, currently working full time, I am desperately seeking your support to build my little business. Reception Writing and Reading Intervention (With Resources)

This is a planned intervention which is intended for children who are not making expected progress with phonics, reading or writing. 15 minutes daily should be enough to boost their learning, providing the support needed to close the gap. Year 1 (English) We're Going on a Leaf Hunt (1 week)

We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger is a wonderful story to use during the Autumn months as the seasons change. This carefully planned unit will begin by encouraging prediction, word recognition, rhyme and vocabulary development, leading at the end of the week to the children writing a page of the story using their own imaginative ideas. In addition to a weekly lesson plan with 5 detailed lesson outlines, you will be provided with a PowerPoint and resources. You will just need to select and add a few images to personalise this for your lesson and you are ready to go.
5 Frame Maths for Reception and Year One

5 Frame Maths for Reception and Year One

(0)
This is a 5 frame resource for use with Reception or Year 1 pupils. You can print and laminate it for use again and again to reinforce the key understanding of the fiveness of five. It visually shows multiple ways of making 5. I have used this as a group activity where the children have been provided this resource alongside a blank 5 frame, counters, number lines and a whiteboard or paper and pencils for the children to record their findings. It can also be a valuable tool for stimulating discussion with your pupils. Talk about the number of reds and yellows. How many altogther? Can you show me 5 fingers? Encourage the child/children to show you one hand to reinforce the idea that we have 5 fingers on each hand. Look there is one yellow. Can you put 1 finger up? How many are down? Link this to the number of red dots on the 5 frame. Repeat the sentence 1 and 4 make 5. Repeat with a different 5 frame. Editable Domino Number Bonds to 8 for Reception and Year 1

(0)
This is a maths activity that can be used to reinforce the children’s understanding on number bonds to 8, suitable for Early Years and Year One. Print, cut out and laminate these dominoes. I have used these in the classroom as an independent group activity where the children select a domino, subitise how many on each side and identify how many altogether, counting if needed. They can then record their understanding through the use of numbers and symbols. Encourage the children to use the stem sentence ___ and ___ make ___ to help to hold this new knowledge within their memory. Repetition here is key.
