Teaching students about beats in rhythms can be difficult, but you can make it fun with games! Use this Rhythm War card game to help students identify note durations in a fun way. It’s perfect for elementary music centers, sub plans, beginning band, piano lessons, and more!

To play:

Students get into pairs. Split the deck of rhythms in half.
Both students flip over the top card on their decks.
The students with the longer rhythm takes both cards, and put them at the bottom of the deck.
