This bundle contains eight reading comprehension activities about influential figures from Black History, and six biography writing units. Perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6. The activities focus on Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Jesse Owens, Muhammed Ali, Barack Obama, Jackie Robinson and Frederick Douglass.

Firstly, there are eight reading comprehension activities about:

• Martin Luther King
• Nelson Mandela
• Jackie Robinson
• Barack Obama
• Frederick Douglass
• Ruby Bridges
• Rosa Parks
• Muhammed Ali

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Finally, there are six biography writing units about Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Jesse Owens, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
