Vestalia PPT

This Powerpoint provides information for secondary school students about the Roman feast of the Vestalia, covered in Chapter 4 of Suburani. The slides explain key elements of the festival, including the significance of bare feet, the role that Vestal Virgins played in Roman life, and what the deal is with all the poo. An exercise is included at the end to get students thinking about what the festival would have been like to experience. The slides are all illustrated, mostly with ancient images such as coins and wall paintings, but also later works and even an emoji!
