A worksheet and PowerPoint for use in a one off lesson on the topic of What is Music?
I created this lesson for use with a year 6 to year 7 transition class but the lesson would work well for any KS2 or KS3 group. This lesson relies on a teachers good ability to lead a philosophical discussion about What is Music?
The lesson features many questions and activities to inspire the class to think about what music is to them and elements that sounds have to have in order to be called music. The lesson also features 4 examples of music chosen specifically to challenge the class’ traditional view of what music is.
