This resource is a Keyboard Skills project, aimed at year 7 students. There is a booklet of 12 ‘keyboard workcards’ which increase in difficulty. Students begin by learning workcard 1 which has 5-finger melodies which gradually develops into reading more challenging rhythms, sharps and flats and C/G major chord.
Students work through each card before performing it to the teacher before being allowed to progress onto the next card.
The resource also includes ‘skill builders’ which can be used at the start of each lesson and require the whole class to focus on a particular skill and perform it all together . These include reading/playing rhythms correctly, playing sharp and flat notes and chord sequences.
The resource has a student booklet (please note this is in Microsoft Publisher and PDF format) and a set of PowerPoints for each lesson.
