Year 7 Music Fun Bridging Project The Springfield Mysteries

**This is a complete Scheme of Work for Year 7 Music, based on the characters in The Simpsons. It includes a Student Work booklet, a Homework Booklet, and a teacher guide with 5 x full lesson plans, supported by 5 x PowerPoints, and answers for the homework tasks. The project is fully resourced, and fully differentiated based on the legacy level system (Level 3c to Level 9/ Exceptional Level), and it includes a fully detailed display-ready level criteria that is extremely useful. The work book is based on a series of puzzles, introducing students to note symbols, basic development techniques such as retrograde and sequence up to and including Level 6. It includes numeracy and literacy based musical puzzles, too. Beyond Level 6, students can attempt tasks in transcribing, transposing, and even 4-part harmony using figured bass. It includes listening and composing tasks in the homework booklet, with 11 x MP3 audios to support the tasks. Overall, there are 12 x homework tasks, up to 13 x main tasks (9 up to and including Level 7). This project is very versatile and makes for a fun Year 7 project at any time of the year, and I’ve also used the first 8 main tasks for Primary Outreach to Year 6.
