This sheet is designed as a quick revision of the water balance topic for AQA Biology Only. The answer sheet is the second page. I hope this helps teachers/students.

These are set out one A4 page on the PDF. I print them four pages per sheet and double sided, so the ‘draw the symbol for…’ is on one side and the picture of the symbol is on the other. Students can use them to test if they can draw the symbol, or use them the other way up and see if they can remember the name of the symbol.

A checklist for pupils to use to tick off the specification points they have covered in lesson and then again in revision.

This powerpoint involves pupils thinking about what they would need if they were to find another planet for humans to survive on. It takes pupils through a series of demonstrations (videos links available if you don’t have the equipment) and practicals that they are able to do to get them thinking about what they would need for finding and surviving on a different planet. The slides have some pictures and minimum words on. The majority of the work in the notes section of the slides, which goes through what you can discuss with the pupils and any video links you can show them linked to this. This is adaptable, to use as a ‘science show’/assembly or as a series of lessons. With the practical side, it would take more than one lesson. I have used this style for a few demonstrations for later primary school years and also early high school years and they have all really enjoyed the mix of demos and practicals that they can take part int.

6 lessons, which all include a ‘do now’ to start the lesson and then teach-check-practice phases of the lesson. This is for all of the paper 1 biology AQA required practicals: Microscopy, Osmosis, Food tests, Enzymes, Photosynthesis & Microbiology.

A worksheet for pupils to use to practice producing genetic crosses. I used Star Wars characters to make it fun for pupils.

The powerpoint has all of the answers on it. The powerpoint is hyperlinked, so if you only want to go through a few answers at a time it is easy to navigate during a lesson.
