This is a display that would be suitable for any classroom KS2 and above (my sixth formers even refer to mine sometimes!). It contains all the lettering and display resources you need for a full display, you just need to print in colour, cut and laminate.
The pack contains the Grow Your Vocabulary lettering, plant pots with “boring” words printed on them (good, bad, said and went) and then the leaves on the plants have more interesting and specific synonyms. There are also blank leaves to add your own words if you would like to.
Enjoy!
This is a collection of 6 short stories and 3 story extracts, with short style comprehension based questions as well as some longer writing or reader response tasks to link to the stories. Each story has different tasks designed specifically with that story in mind.
Some of the stories also have “listen along” links to youtube etc to help students who may struggle to access the reading alone. They all tend to be linked to crime or behaviour that is perceived as deviant (but not all of them) and range different cultures/author backgrounds etc.
These can be used as in class extracts with tasks used in class, or used for homework or private study. They can be used as standalone stories/tasks or as a collection.
The stories included:
Tell Tale Heart
Lamb to the Slaughter
The Landlady
The Fly
Happily Ever After
My Antonio (extract)
The Paradise Carpet
The Hate U Give (Extract)

A resource to be used in conjunction with the book “Prince and Knight” by Daniel Haack. A great LGBTQ+ friendly story, beautifully illustrated and engaging, which has many different layers in which to discuss.
This resource includes example activities for before, during, and after reading, questions to ask during the reading of the book, and suggested activities to consolidate learning once the book has been finished.
Aimed at early years and KS1, but could easily be adapted to work for KS2 if necessary. There is also scaffolding within the resource and use of Makaton signs to discuss emotions. Teacher notes at each stage of the resource guide the teacher and make suggestions.
A great resource for anyone looking to add more diverse books and characters into their classroom but unsure of where to start or how to begin discussing these topics with younger students.
