Literacy and topic resources for students from Year 3 to Year 6. Resources are either free or value for money as I believe that every £ spent should relieve stress, lessen your workload and advance your students' experiences in school.
This is a biography writing unit about the first African-American woman to go into space, Mae Jemison. The remote learning unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4 learning about space or for Women’s History Month.
When downloaded this resource includes a printable version of the activity and a PDF with a link that allows you to copy the Google Slides document and save it in your Google Drive.
The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.
This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Slides, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets or computers.
However, the resource also comes in a PDF format, which can be printed.

A great digital research and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Rome. Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. There are 26 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the founding of the city of Rome to the end of the Byzantine Empire in the east.
When downloaded this resource includes a printable version of the timeline display and sorting activity and a PDF with a link that allows you to copy the Google Slides document and save it in your Google Drive.

Three great activities that would span six lessons and a great classroom display about World War 2. Perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6 studying World War II or World History.

Firstly, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of World War 2. There are 42 posters or cards that include many of the key events from the Second World War.
Secondly, there is a reading comprehension activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity.
Finally, there is an informational text writing unit. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Ideal for students learning about World War II.
