Easy 2 Read Resources

EASY 2 READ provides resources created by experienced PGCE teacher of psychology and childcare education. Resources are designed for teaching on the Access to HE and BTEC programmes, but can be pitched to teach AS level psychology too. In addition Easy 2 Read provides resources to deliver Cache level 2 and level 3 early years education. Resources include lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, activities, Q/A worksheets and quizzes to assess learning.

Access to HE: Psychology: Research Methods: Introduction and Terminologies

Unit: Research Methods Topic: Terminologies This lesson introduces learners to the vocabulary and terms used by researchers in psychology. A good grasp of the terminologies at the start will prepare learners to engage fully and successfully in subsequent lessons covered in this unit. The resource pack includes 7 items: • A comprehensive lesson plan covering 2 hours of teaching and learning. • 50 Powerpoint slides in colour to use in class. • 50 PowerPoint slides in black ink to print in handout format for learners. • 3 Exercise sheets with answers in PDF format. • Quiz with answers in PDF format. • Homework task in PDF format . • Terminologies handout PDF format The lesson can also be pitched at AS level and BTEC level 3. The lesson plans are self-explanatory and easy to navigate. Learning objectives are clearly outlined and a variety of assessment tools are used to check learning throughout the lesson including Q/A worksheets, discussions and a quiz. Numeracy skills and differentiation are covered in the lesson planning too. Contents are delivered vocally and presented visually using PowerPoint; the sequence of the slides coincide with the stages of the lesson plan. Learning objectives are also displayed on PowerPoint at the start of the lesson and can be used to check learning at the end of the lesson. PowerPoint slides also give lots of examples to consolidate learning. All the exercise sheets are included with answers in PDF format. The quiz is ideal to check learning easily and quickly; it can be used to re-cap in the next lesson too. Numeracy and literacy is also incorporated into the quiz. Lastly, some helpful notes are available at the end of the lesson plan which are based on reflective practice.
