English Eduqas Paper 2 non-fiction writing lesson for KS4, useful for English Language Component 2 Section B preparation. Focuses on review writing in non-fiction writing. Students work on a magazine project, thinking of a central subject or interest to use as a stimulus for creating different writing pieces. Students analyse an example review provided and use this to help plan and write out reviews for their magazines. A useful lesson for KS3 and KS4 classes with differentiated activities, questions and resources.
Travel Writing leaflet and writing to advise lesson that is easily adaptable for both KS3 and KS4 students. Includes complete leaflet on planning a holiday, differentiated activities and approaches to language techniques, structure and organisation. A really useful lesson that could also be edited to work as a homework or home school activity. Very useful for AQA English Language Paper 2 Section A and Question 5 as well.

A fully differentiated and resourced lesson that introduce students to the context surrounding Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. We look at ideas about the American Dream, and how the Great Depression impacted on American society after the Roaring Twenties. Additionally, we look at how Steinbeck introduces setting and character at the start of the novel and how these are linked to the idea of the American Dream. Designed for Literature students but easily adaptable for younger ages.
We look at Of Mice and Men and Chapter Two, with a focus on the relationship between Lennie and George and how Steinbeck introduces the new characters of Crooks, Candy, The Boss and Curley. Additionally, we look at how Steinbeck uses a sense of foreboding to hint at the rest of the plot. A really useful lesson for students preparing for Literature exams but easily adaptable for younger students as well. Fully differentiated and resourced.
AQA English Language Paper 1 lesson designed for KS3 and KS4 students preparing for Paper 1 Q3, the lesson uses an extract to help students understand key structural techniques. I made this lesson after my students wanted to spend more time on the question as finding structural techniques can be more challenging than looking at language.
