Fun times tables revision activities! Speed up students’ mental recall with these easy-to-prepare, printable, well-differentiated times tables facts board games. Use as starter activities / warm ups in Key Stage 2 (especially Year 4, 5 and 6 - Y4 / Y5 / Y6) Maths lessons, or early finisher activities, morning starters, or as part of a multiplication unit. There are 24 pages of boards (multiple versions of the same boards for differentiation and eco-printing), together with full instructions for the teacher. Simply choose the pages you want to print and laminate for children to play using dry-wipe / whiteboard pens. In Scotland, use for Second Level Maths, Primary 5, 6 and 7.
CONTENTS:
Boards 1-4 feature 2 to 9 times tables calculations
Boards 5-8 are versions of the first four boards with some 11 and 12 times table calculations added
All boards come in colour and black and white versions
**Further differentiation: **All 2-9 times table versions come in a differentiated format too, with sidebars added, featuring all answers listed in numerical order. This works really well with lower ability or younger pupils who require a little more support. They can score through the number they have used each time.
The boards were originally designed to be printed in A3 size so you may need to quickly adjust your printer settings to print in A4, which works fine too.
INSTRUCTIONS: Two children (or two pairs of children) take it in turns to write an answer over a times table question on the board. Ideally they use a different colour whiteboard pen, however if this is not possible they could add an initial or symbol each time too. First to get 4 in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - is the winner. The times tables questions are designed to print in faintish grey (on the black and white versions) or white (on the colour versions) so as not to get in the way of the children’s answers. It works especially well if pupils roll a dice to determine which column they should answer a question from. The columns are numbered 1-6. If the column is already completed, they could either miss a go or roll again.

Fractions activities (puzzles worksheets) for Key Stage 2 (KS2) Maths, especially Year 5 and Year 6 (Y5 / Y6), for early finisher challenges, revision, starter tasks and homework. Just PRINT AND GO! Includes 6 Hidden Word / Spot the Mistakes puzzles worksheets for equivalent fractions, simplest form / simplifying, fractions of quantities / amounts, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Full solutions included. All puzzles are in PDF format. In Scotland, great for Primary 6 and 7.
Fast finishers love being challenged by them plus they make great collaborative starters!
Some puzzles will also suit younger classes, depending on ability. Different puzzles from this pack could be used within the same class to provide differentiation. Also available in great value BUNDLES (below).
Puzzles 1 and 2: Equivalent Fractions
Puzzle 3: Fractions in Simplest Form / Simplifying Fractions
Puzzle 4: Fractions of Quantities (Unit Fractions)
Puzzle 5: Fractions of Quantities (Harder)
Puzzle 6: Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions
An engaging alternative to standard worksheets, these make ideal starter, early finisher or homework activities. Puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs or groups. Similar to codebreaker puzzles, a maths-related word is revealed after completing the work. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a fraction / calculation and a letter. Pupils circle any boxes containing incorrect answers or errors such as non-equivalent fractions (depending on which puzzle it is). Then they assemble letters from the circled boxes to reveal a maths word. There's a further question / task at the bottom of the page linked to the word.
Students often forget or avoid checking their work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.

Ideal starter mental maths tests or quizzes. NO PREP! This pack contains 15 Mental Arithmetic PowerPoint Speed Tests, originally designed for Lower Key Stage 2(KS2) - Year 4 (Y4) and, if the concepts have been taught, Year 3 (Y3) - and other equivalents (in Scotland that’s Primary 5 and 4). They will also suit some lower ability students in Years 5 and 6 (Primary 6 and 7). UPDATE: PDF versions of all tests are included as well as the original PowerPoints. Money calculations are in UK pounds but additional dollar versions of all resources are also included.
Students enjoy trying to beat their previous scores. These informal tests are split across 3 PowerPoints and are designed to be shown on the whiteboard, with children recording answers in jotters or on paper. In each test or quiz there’s one question to a slide so children can focus on it for a few seconds before the next one comes up. The question slides are plain and uncluttered so as to minimise distractions. You can run the PowerPoint presentation on a timer if you wish - alternatively click it on yourself, perhaps allowing a little longer for more challenging calculations. Each test features 20 questions involving a variety of mathematical skills and knowledge. Alternatively, use the PDF versions.
At the end of each test, there follows the same 20 slides repeated, this time with the answer added clearly. Students can then mark their own or a partner’s work to cut down on your workload. If short of time, you can whizz through the answers but the idea of each answer appearing with its question like this is that it allows for important discussions about strategies used.
Concepts include: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, Times Tables, Doubling and Halving, Multiplying and Dividing by 10, Fractions, Place Value, Money, Measure, Time and Angles.
The PowerPoint files are editable should you wish to amend any wording or change the odd question to better suit your class.
Differentiation: I have called this Set B rather than used any other identifier to help facilitate the use of my Set A (originally designed for Upper KS2) with children within the same class without children being aware of the age level of the questions. It’s a full class set of 30 different reusable simple sentence building activity boards and now also comes with an additional worksheet version of all boards. Originally designed for Year 1 (Y1) (or Primary 2 in Scotland), these sentence construction SPaG / Grammar activities could be used elsewhere in EYFS / Reception (Primary 1) and Key Stage 1, depending on ability. Emergent writers love lifting the words off the boards to sort and unscramble them to find the hidden sentence. With an engaging picture clue and title on each board, this word sequencing Literacy Basic Skills resource suits a range of learning styles. After carefully reading the jumbled words, your early writers correctly rearrange them on the board before writing the sentence out on the lines provided, using a dry-wipe pen. Regular practice with scrambled sentences should help children begin to form sentences independently.
This is a 66 page PDF document in a Zip file, together with an additional editable Word document of the word cards only.
Each mixed-up sentence contains a word beginning with a capital letter to help identify the first word and to reinforce this important punctuation rule, and a full stop to pick up and place at the end. While constructing these sentences, children also learn about word order, parts of speech and that a sentence must make sense on its own.
These sentences contain 6-8 words. A simpler set featuring scrambled 4-5 word sentences is available, as is a muddled up questions version. SAVE by purchasing all 3 Sentence Ordering sets in a bundle.

Jumbled Sentences BUNDLE
Print in colour on quality card to make it sturdy and laminate for repeated use. It’s ideal for using as a regular activity, with children working on a different one each session. Or choose the ones you make up if working with a smaller group. It could be used with SEN / ASN groups or others requiring support with writing.
Words are printed in faint grey on each sheet in a random order. Once laminated, cut the word strips and stick each word on top of this faint type, using Blu Tack, Blu Tack ‘Glu Dots’ or equivalent. Each strip is in a different colour to help identify the board it is from. Train the children to replace the words to these starting positions and to wipe boards before putting them back. Good quality laminating pouches and easy-wipe pens will help with this!
