This is a writing frame to assist students when writing about a photographer. It follows the structure of SETON which is NOTES backwards. Students can use it to write about the subject, elements, technique, opinion and next steps. There are questions to work as prompts. Sentence starters to assist and key words to consider including. It can be used for KS4 or KS5 students.

Here is a template for students to use looking at a range of photographers that use the formal elements: Line, tone, shape, form, colour, texture, space, pattern. Can either be printed out and written on or worked digitally as a powerpoint. Each formal element has an example photographer and a section to analyse their work using the included writing frame and a page for students to put their own interpretations. There is also a print out slide at the end for homework. Suitable for Y9-Y12.

This is a full Landscape photography project. Suitable a term project for KS3 or half term for KS4 or KS5. There is a written scheme to follow along with powerpoints full of examples for each lesson. It also includes a digital template ready to share digitally with the students to work through. It focuses on a regular landscape photographer as well as David Hockney’s joiner photos. There are elements looking at camera angles and the rule of thirds. Includes writing frames to assist with artist study and article to add depth.
