Editable template to create a reading challenge for able readers - how many book can they read in the year?

This is a link to the Canva template so you can fully edit the cards. They do not feature the inside out characters due to copyright but you can copy and paste your own images in - there is a free download of the character images on my TES - alternatively you can use any images you like or any you find in canva. The emotion vocab cards - which are large versions of the emotion trees - are also available on my TES and work well with these cards. I had these printed and made them into key rings and had them enlarged for our playground wall - my instagram shares more info!

The cards feature emotion trees showcasing groups of words for each emotion. EYFS cards - add your own character or image on top of the coloured auras - we use the colour monster images KS1 and KS2 - you can just use the cards with the emotion sign posts or you can add your own characters or images at the bottom of each tree. We used the characters from Inside Out. See instagram page for preview of how we have added images to the cards. If you would like a copy of the characters I have used drop me your email address and I can send you them.

Spelling Challenge Cards Level 1-5 Level 1 = phase 3 CEW and HFW Level 2 = Phase 4 CEW and HFW Level 3 = Phase 5a Level 4 = Phase 5b Level 5 = Phase 5c Each challenge card is split into bronze, silver and gold (these aren’t progressive, they just offer milestones) Children take the sheets home and practice the words. When they are confident they can spell them, the parents cut the relevant slip off the bottom and send it in to say they are ready to be tested! Teachers can test all/ a random sample of the words to validate. Each level has bronze, silver and gold certs. Each time a child gets a cert, we offer 3 raffle tickets (in the bundle) and 2 house points (you can add your own rewards!). We will run a termly raffle to win £20!

Editable boxes to add key dates per month - headings NOT editable. Title and text boxes are. Perfect sheet to record key school dates on for parents and send out in Autumn term.

These cards are ideal to support children as they learn through talk, allowing for high quality discussions. These cards are NOT editable. Simply print, laminate and then you can add you topic specific vocabulary on the empty boxes provided - allowing them to be used in any unit of work. 2 levels of support - cards numbered

Sentence stems to support high quality conversations about writing - both for self assessment and peer assessment. Print back to back and laminate for a key resource to have to hand in the classroom. These cards go with the other cards in the ‘talk like a …’ set 2 levels of complexity. Set and Set 2

cards are subtly numbered 1-6, each aligned to the NC expectations. Designed so teachers can ask children to focus on 1-2 sections of the guide or work through it all… dependent on the pupil/s, the time allocated to the task and the teacher focus. Print and laminate for a handy classroom resource.
