On this worksheet, students will need to record the equipment and ingredients required to make salt crystals, the method they used to make them and observational drawings recorded once per week. I created this worksheet to use with my Year 2 students during our Science unit on Rocks. My students loved this activity and especially liked how they could add food colouring to get different coloured salt crystals! Just a word of warning to ensure that all of your students create a super-saturated solution (to the point where no more salt can dissolve in the water), otherwise you’re at risk of getting some very disappointed little faces!
