In this lesson I am focussing on the migration wave that took place in May 2021, where more than 6000 immigrants arrived in Spanish borders after the Moroccan government decided to relax their border control. We are going to look at the reasons why this wave happened as well as look into the event itself and what it involved for the Security forces in Spain. This is a lesson I have created for my GCSE students to get familiar with the role play task. To begin with, we look at question words and their translation into English. Then, I explain to them the difference between qué and cuál, which is often confunsing for them. Afterwards, students attempt 5 different role plays on a mix of different topics.
