As part of the component 1 coursework, students are required to give practical examples of the elements of music within a style. This booklet gives students the resources to play these styles. EG the melody in reggae music - this booklet has the riff from Three Little Birds for students to learn and play.
This resource is a workbook that will thoroughly prepare the students for the component 2 coursework. It ensures they know what to do to hit all of the criteria of the coursework. This can be used as a framework for how to prepare the students. I have worked closely with the mark scheme/marking grids to ensure everything is covered.

Battle of the Bands Scheme Of Work (6 lessons), appropriate for any key stage 3 music. Students learn about the roles in bands, how chords are formed, and how to play 4 chords on the keyboard and guitar. They then form their own bands which perform at the end of the topic.
