Lesson 1 of a 13 lesson unit on the First World War aimed at KS3 students. In this lesson there are 11 resources on the Great Powers of Europe in 1914. Interesting fact files on Austria-Hungary, Germany, Britain, France and Russia which look at their leaders, problems, aims and ambitions. Pupils have to work out how the alliances of the Triple Entente and Triple Alliance formed and then colour code a map of Europe.
