The ppt presentation follows the order of the movie: “The Rise of Evil”.
The students need to watch parts of the movie and answer questions from the ppt presentation.
A great set of resources about Brezhnev’s government in the USSR.

It’s better to be used along with the book: ‘‘The Russian Revolution and Soviet Union 1910-1991’’ of Waught and Wright (p. 137)
This is a great set of resources about the Fall of Soviet Union. The ppt presentation is full of questions and class activities which are created for the book: ‘‘Communist States in 20th Century’’ (Hodder Education, endorsed for Edexcel, 2015).
There is also an activity to arrange the reasons of the fall into political, economic and social causes. This activity is not from the book: ‘‘Communist States in 20th Century’’, but my students find it very useful to use it along with the ppt presentation.

A good use of audiovisual sources such videos and movies about different topics of the era. For Instance about the ‘monkey trial’ the students had to watch three scenes from the movie ‘Inherit the Wind’(1960) and they had to answer the questions like the following:
Why do you think Darrow called Bryan to confess and what is he trying to prove? (Give examples from the scene to support your answer)
What is Darrow main point about the theory of Evolution?
Who do you think proves his point at the end and why?
