This is a FREE first lesson in a 8 lesson SOW which covers Anglo-Saxon & Norman England. L1 –** Who were the Anglo-Saxons? ** L2 – How was Anglo-Saxon society constructed & what was life like for Anglo-Saxons. L3 – The succession crisis of 1066 – claimants to the throne L4 – The battles of Gate Fulford & Stamford Bridge L5&6 – The Battle of Hastings, 1066 (2 lessons) L7 – How did William of Normandy secure his position? L8 – Review of the Anglo-Saxon & Norman period. This particular lesson focuses on the origins of the Anglo-Saxons with clear differentiated learning objectives and activities. This lesson will help to foster enthusiasm for the subject and offer an opportunity for begin to understand the Anglo-Saxon period, as well as, practicing key essay writing skills.
