Scientific Enquiry Kitchen Roll Investigation KS2 KS3
A detailed and editable booklet that takes the classic kitchen roll investigation and provides a structured approach that will guide students through the different stages of researching, planning and carrying out an accurate and reliable investigation.
In the investigation students will test the claims of a variety of different kitchen rolls brands either on their strength or absorbency. Students then use free learning (discovery) to design their own tests to gather evidence for these claims.
NOTE: The kitchen rolls used for this were purchased from Sainsburys and are easily source able but any 5 different brands will do and can be easily changed in the booklet.

KS3 Scientific Enquiry Investigation: Friction on Moist and Dry Sand
A recent report suggested that the Egyptians found that making the sand moist in front a sled carrying stone blocks reduced friction by up to 50%. Can your students replicate these results in a controlled manner by using trays of sand, wooden sleds and masses?
A detailed and editable booklet takes this scenario and provides a structured approach that will guide students through the different stages of researching, planning and carrying out an accurate and reliable investigation.

Galapagos Islands Food Web Ecosystem ICT Lesson KS2 KS3 KS4
A perfect end to a habitats/ecosystems topic. This is designed as a student led independent ICT activity.
Students are given a table of Galapagos Island organisms that they have to use to arrange pictures of the organsisms into a food web.
Also included are a series of questions that get progressively harder and get students researching the Galapagos Islands.
Scientific Enquiry Booklet KS2 KS3
A guide that introduces basic scientific skills and explains the process of writing a scientific report.
This is fairly universal, I use it with year 6 although it could easily be used with KS3.
Human Body, Exercise and Nutrition KS2 KS3 SoW
This topic covers nutrition, the heart and lungs, healthy diet and exercise and bones and muscles.
This course has been designed for above average KS2 students and could also be used effectively with KS3 classes
Please comment if you use the resources so that I can keep them updated and amend any mistakes

Plants, Animals and Microbes Full Scheme KS2 KS3
I have made these resources for use with above average NC boys in a dedicated science lab. A lot of these resources would also be transferable over to KS3 science.
