9.4 - Types of Selection

(1)
This resource guides a-level biologists through the types of selection pressures that the environment may cause and the influence this has on allele frequency within a population. Penicillinase and Mortality rate are example explored here to illustrate the selection pressures. Stretch, challenge and lateral thinking questions are embedded throughout. This is a resource been made to be picked up and used by any teacher. AQA Biology

9.3 - Genetic Diversity & Adaptation

(1)
This resource guides a-level biologists through the idea of genetic diversity and the causes of this. We look at allele combinations and frequency with the specific example of the peppered moth through the industrial revolution. Stretch, challenge and lateral thinking questions are embedded throughout. This is a resource been made to be picked up and used by any teacher. AQA Biology

9.2 - Meiosis & Genetic Variation

(0)
This resource guides a-level biologists through plant and animal life cycles and how they rely on the production of gametes. Students then walk through the process of meiosis before looking in detail at the process of crossing-over and non-disjunction and how this leads to variation. Stretch, challenge and lateral thinking questions are embedded throughout. This is a resource been made to be picked up and used by any teacher. AQA Biology

Combined Biology (CB1-CB9) Revision Booklets

(3)
These booklets are a great tool for any teacher wanting to revise in class for an assessment or to use as homework. Students are required to RAG their confidence against the specification points to start with in order to highlight their strengths and areas for development. The following pages contain a sumamrised version of the content alongside diagrams and images. Students can use this to hightlight key information and visit the areas they highlighted as a weakness. The is followed by a series of questions that students are required to answer using their sumamry pages. A blank page is proivided for students to make notes on the area of weakness as well as a page whereby they can write down concepts and knowledge that is not sticking. The booklet ends on a selectrion of exam style questions that students can answer and self-assess themselves on. Mark schemes are provided.
