Some of my earlier resources, for general GCSE Business Studies, hopefully everything has uploaded correctly but if it hasn't then please get in touch with me. I am hoping that this gives you a starting point for your lesson and that you are able to either further develop it or use it as it is.

1.4.2 - Business location.
Included is a lesson plan - filled out with differentiation, power point which will guide the teacher through the task, this also includes modeling of what the students need to do for the different levels e.g. assistant for low ability, manager for middle ability and CEO for higher ability. Students need to locate different businesses on a map and justify their reasons.
If you need further information on the power point then please get in touch.

EDEXCEL BUSINESS - THEME 1
1.1 Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
This revision question menu can be used in a range of different ways. I have given it out as a home learning tasks, particularly useful over self isolation as it gives students something to do whilst being away from school and still able to interact with the lesson content. I have used it in lesson when needing some differentiation, I will signpost students to certain sections to complete. This is an activity that can be done both in school and out of school.
It covers the following:
The dynamic nature of business
Risk and reward
The role of business enterprise
The importance of added value
The role of entreprenurship
Business GCSE Edexcel
1.2.4 The Competitive Market
This resource includes a starter question, a bit of theory for the exam, an activity and a plenary.
The powerpoint covers:
Competition
Differentiation
Ways to compete
Competitive market
Plenary questions from previous topic learning 1.1-1.2
The activity:
The activity is a market research activity, supermarket research is in the document, students need to decide what kind of a supermarket they could create in order to beat the competition. The market research is already done, so access to computers isn’t necessary, however it might make for a stronger lesson. The students need to answer questions and also sketch out designs.
I have used this as an introductory Year 7 e-safety lesson, students have a word search to help identify key words used throughout the topic. During the next two lessons I would expect this to last over an hour as students will need to be given folders, target grade stickers and a general introduction into the how to use the computer etc.
This also gives the teacher time to circulate around the room and get to know the class.
A very basic resource made by a non specialist ICT teacher, taken mostly from the Edexcel GCSE Revision Book. Made for a class to discuss and share online shopping experiences. Previous homework was for students to list and describe both positive and negative online shopping experiences. Students to then create revision material to be reviewed by other students. It is very basic, but as a teacher without any resources it might help someone else as a building block.
I have used this for Year 8's to refresh the e-safety topic.
Students are to research blogs based on topics that they are interested in e.g. sports, beauty, pets etc. From here students are to analyse these blogs encouraging them to look more closely. Using the material from last lesson (please see previous resource). Students are required to complete the analysis and peer assessment, they then need to plan their blog using either paper or the computer. These plans should then be peer assessed using the previous sheet.
Students will then be ready to move on to lesson 3.

1. The blog web address is:
2. The purpose of this blog is:
3. A description of the layout is (where things are):
4. A description of the design is (what does it look like?):
5. Five good things that I like about it are (and why!):
6. Five bad things about it are (and why!):
7. It could be improved by (more than one please):
Students then peer assess their analysis ready to move on to lesson 2.
I have used this for Year 9's to refresh the e-safety topic as we often discuss around the topic.
Based on the previous lesson, students are to write a short synopsis of how they will carry out their website creation making them consider the steps they need to take and to provide them with a list of tasks that they need to complete. Students can then start to use the Web design software, we use WebPlus but anything similar would be fine to use. I normally allow them to choose a topic, but the option of making it e-safety based is in there.
