Playing a Glockenspiel Units 1, 2 and 3 30 Music Lessons! These units are not mac-friendly. There are at least thirty music lessons in this unit but depending on the age an ability of your pupils, you may choose to deliver them in smaller chunks. These resources will support your delivery of the National Curriculum for Music. The musical activities in this pack focus on Listening and Playing (National Curriculum for Music 2013). In addition the activities aid the development of a range of wider skills including focus, team-work, performing, coordination and confidence. **You do not have to have a musical background to teach them. ** Unit 1 This unit of work comprising of ten detailed, easy to follow music lessons teaches pupils how to play the glockenspiel correctly, how to read and play simple tunes and songs using lettered score. Students also learn about the percussion family, tuned and untuned instruments and a range of musical terms and signs. It can be delivered to just one pupil or, as many as you have. This resource includes; • Ten detailed lesson plans with numerous exercises to practise • A Power Point presentation of the exercises, and songs • A PowerPoint plenary quiz • Numerous hints, tips and advice to support your pupils in making progress • A set of printable lettered scores • An MP3 file recording of each exercise and song, for your support.
