A resource made with the intention of getting students thinking about whether they prefer traditional or popular fiestas, with a focus on qué chulo type structures.

I’m lucky enough to have a native madrileña in my class. Here is a writing she put together that we turned into a resource for the rest of the class. Thank you PMG! This was a 150-word GCSE question.

A new overhauled version of this resource is now available here. It covers every single grammar point from the AQA, Edexecel and WJEC specifications and is designed for classroom and independent study.

This took surprisingly long to make. A combination of Illustrator and Indesign. I really hope it works. I’m planning to teach compass points on the whiteboard and follow up with this resource. Students will have to read the statements and write the correct cities under the correct dots. Some cities have already been given to act as reference points and these are marked with a pin symbol.

I’ll most likely update this in a few months time but for now I’m going with it.

This booklet is the culmination of a few years work collecting resources about Volver and Almodóvar, it has become almost an obsession. This booklet is free because whilst the majority of the work is mine, some is not. There are essay sections from Almodóvar himself and links to news articles and even a PHD. The work which is mine is an updated form of pre-existing worksheets uploaded to TES, some free and some paid for. I’ve decided to include previously paid-for resources for free to share my work more widely. I have lowered the price on all my paid-for Volver resource listings. Sections on melodrama, plot and La Movida are missing from this booklet but may appear in a future update. The Hodder guide is an excellent resources to use in conjunction with this. Post-writing checklist for students.

Present, preterite and future tense endings with common irregulars in 1st person. Time phrases as well. On the flip side some opinion related vocabulary including idiomatic opinions and pre-set subjunctive phrases. Original idea from the brilliant @wyedeanmfl

Hopefully after making this I will see less aburrido, importante, divertido and interesante. I am working on breadth of vocabulary with my year 11s at the moment and using synonyms and upgrading out adjective use is on the agenda next week. I plan for this 99 adjectives worksheet to form the backbone of the lesson. Update: This is now on version 2, I have now included some really advanced adjectives like fanfarrón, tacaño, hospilatorio, bruto etc

Does what it says on the tin.

Two pages per character. One page on development, relationships, goals and motivations and a second one containing 17 contrasting adjectives to develop descriptions of characters. I’ve included this free in the Volver bundle I have for sale.

Hopefully this formats okay although I suspect the font (New Atten Round) is protected. If it looks awful then let me know and I’ll re-upload with print screens of each slide pasted over the slides themselves. I have been teaching es bueno que sea (where bueno can be substituted for any adjective) for a few years now and it has been successful so decided it was time to take it a small step further.
